Pitt vs. Villanova Pre-Game Blog

It's going to be tough to top the three overtime classic that took place last Friday, but if anyone could, it's Villanova. Pitt and Villanova would know something about playing classics. Last year's Elite Eight game was one of the best of the NCAA tournament, and crowned by some as one of the top games of the decade. The Oakland Zoo was in the Pete by 9 o'clock in the morning, a full three hours before game-time. This game is critical both in getting a slight measure of revenge for the Elite Eight defeat and for Pitt to keep climbing the Big East standings. If Pitt were to win this one they would own the tiebreaker over both Villanova and Syracuse due to their head-to-head wins and be even with West Virginia. If Pitt were to win the Big East this season, it would be their most memorable. A win in this one would make a Big East title much more reachable. The game tips at Noon on CBS.
