I was just going to publish all the texts i sent to certain people during game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals, which would have been highly entertaining, but in light of Josh's post i felt i should respond by listing all the things that have shifted the schedule of the finals or take the place of them.
1) Yanni Concert- I personally had no idea who Yanni is. Apparently, he is more popular than the NHL (i know shocking). It turns out Yanni is a pianest, keyboardist and composer who lays claim to 35 gold or platinum albums. I guess the people who control the arena didn't have enough confidence in their team, where they allowed this to happen. When these two events clashed, Yanni ended up using the arena on that day, causing back to back games to be played.
2) I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here-NBC, 8pm- I case you haven't heard, this is a new show on NBC that's being shown Monday June 1st. What's better than Hockey? We'll everything, but on this night it's a show about a bunch of spoiled celebrities stranded in Costa Rica. Some of the celebrities include Sanjaya from American Idol, Stephen Baldwin, Heidi Montag from The Hills as well as a few more people i've never heard of until now. Stephen Baldwin, entertaining as hell, a bunch of Russians and Canadians skating in circles for 3 hours...not so much.
3) Medium (New!)-NBC, 10pm-Another show i've never heard of... This is the Season Finale of Season 5 where Allison has most nightmarish vision ever. Allison has a dream that her family is being massacred and an unfamiliar man comforts her. If this show takes place in Colorado, i have a feeling this man plays for the Lakers, and by comforts, they mean rapes. I have no idea who Allison is or what she looks like, but i have a feeling Sidney Crosby would probably cower away in fear rather than fight her.
4) Yankees vs. Indians-ESPN 7 pm-Since ESPN doesn't want to be bothered with showing NHL games, they'd much rather have the Yankees on as much as humanly possible. Why not? We need more A-Rod. This is a pretty awful match-up considering the Indians suck and the Yankees are the Yankees. Who wears more lipstick, A-rod or Crosby?
5) Womens Softball World Series-ESPN 2, 7pm-I guess it depends on who is actually playing, but there are certain teams that are worth watching. A few teams have pitchers that are definitely must-see-tv. Washington's Daniele Lawrie and Florida's Stacey Nelson are definitely talented in several ways.
So these are some things that you can watch, and thankfully, hockey is not one of them.
